The latest research, backed by our own experience, shows that combining different teaching methods results in the best learning outcomes for students. Therefore, all courses at the Faculty of Science combine different teaching methods. 

Lectures are given by professors on a weekly basis and are usually held with a larger group of students. The lectures are interactive and professors take the effort to design the speed and the content of the lectures according to the students' needs, interests and questions. Having a good ratio between students and teachers enables our professors to care for the learning development of every single student. 

Master-level practice and exercise sessions at the Faculty of Science are generally held by the professors themselves. The practice and exercise sessions often contain problem-solving tasks and adaptation of methods as we highly encourage our students to use the learned theoretical principles to create their own ideas and solutions. 

As part of each course, you will be asked to do certain assignments and projects; some individually and others in groups. Your participation, your personal commitment and you taking responsibility for your own learning process are the key factors here.

With 2000 students, our campus in Kolding is the city's largest educational institution. Large enough to have strong academic environments, but at the same time small enough for you to get to know your fellow students and your teachers really well. The doors to the teachers’ offices are always open. This means that it is easy to get answers to any academic questions that may arise over your course of study, either by dropping by the teachers’ offices or contacting them by phone or e-mail.

The distinctive, triangular university building is located in the middle of the city's campus area by the harbour, and here you are close to everything. Close to your fellow students, to the city and to the other educational institutions. Design School Kolding and the IBA International Business Academy are the nearest neighbours.

Life on campus in Kolding is characterised by an ambition to contribute to the development of cities, organisations and companies through design thinking. Among other things, the focus is on process design and innovation design, which makes it possible for students to engage in design as a method both on and off campus.

The Student Network (Studenternetværket) plays an important role in the social life at the Kolding campus, for example through freshman outings and parties.

Kolding is a youthful city with cafés, bars and clubs. Creativity in the city can be seen in several large and well-visited cultural institutions. The Trapholt museum of modern art, craft and design is beautifully located by the fjord; the Koldinghus castle and the regional theatre are in the middle of the city.

When you need a little break from your studies, you can go exploring in one of the city's many green breathing holes, such as the Marielund Forest or the Geographical Garden. Kolding is surrounded by forests and fjords and offers a wealth of nature and outdoor experiences, whether you're into beaches or beech forests.

The city's many cultural institutions, venues, cozy cafés and bars mean you are never far away from your next cultural fix. Every September, the new semester kicks off with the study start festival, Kontur, which is held in the campus area.

In the Entrepreneurship House Pakhuset, which functions as a working community for entrepreneurs, educational institutions and small and medium-sized companies, there are a large number of offers targeted at students with budding ideas and entrepreneurial dreams.
