Entry requirements
To apply for the Master’s Degree Programme in Data Science, you need a Bachelor’s degree or a Professional Bachelor’s degree. All academic Bachelor’s degrees and all Professional Bachelor’s degrees meet the entry requirements, however, the programme is aimed at students who do not already have a background in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
Language requirements
The programme is taught in English. If your qualifying degree is not from SDU, you are required to submit proof of your proficiency in English.

Selection criteria
There is a limited number of study places in the programme. If there are more qualified applicants than study places, the following criteria are used for the selection of applicants without a legal claim. Each criterion weighs 50% in the overall assessment.
- The grade point average of your qualifying degree. If the degree is not completed at the time of application, the grade point average is calculated based on the courses passed at the time of application.
- Statement of academic interest which covers the following questions:
- What is your professional background and why do you want to study Data Science?
- Which courses in the program are you particularly interested in and why?
- Why did you decide to study Data Science in Kolding.
Answers should be restricted to 1,000 characters each.
Each criterion is covered 50%.
