About our research

Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Biodemography

At the research unit for Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Biodemography we study human development and aging and the link between them. We are engaged in cross-disciplinary research that combines methods from epidemiology, genetics, statistics, bioinformatics and demography.

From uterus to old age

Our research primarily fall within the two main areas: Aging and twin research. We study how living conditions can affect health both in the earliest parts of life and at the end of life’s spectrum. The goal is to identify genetic and environmental factors that are important for health, aging and longevity.
