The project seeks to contribute to an understanding of causes and treatments of patients with Hashimoto metabolic disease. The thyroid gland is of vital importance to human energy conversion. Hashimoto's disease, is a so-called chronic autoimmune disease where the thyroid gland is destroyed which lowers release of the metabolic hormone from the gland and resolves in a reduced metabolism. Low metabolism can be considered as a - most often overlooked - public disease which approximately five percent of the population (mainly women) is affected by. The disease can reduce the length and quality of life. There is a lively debate on social media about whether Hashimoto's disease is treated properly by the doctors. Much of the exchange of information is not factual, and unfortunately, it is more misleading than indicative of the patients.
