When you study an engineering degree at SDU, the teaching is project and problem based. The teaching usually takes place in small groups, where there is a great opportunity for dialogue with the teachers and your fellow students. You will also experience that the teaching can sometimes take place as large lectures with the various engineering degrees.

In the project work, you will work with your fellow students to solve challenges for the business community by working with various case studies.

On an engineering degree, a large part of the work takes place in project groups. From the very start of your studies, you will become part of a project group, where you work on projects that are often based on issues taken from companies.

During the degree, you will work with your project group, where you are, for example, given the task of solving complicated technical tasks for Danish or international companies. Here you must consider the environment, economy, technological possibilities - and not least the users of the product.

A large part of your daily life will take place in the TEK building at SDU. Here, there are new and modern project rooms as well as more than 60 laboratories and teaching rooms.

On the engineering degrees, the content is very varied and consists of project work, class teaching, report presentations and lectures.

SDU Odense is the main campus of SDU, located roughly three kilometers from the city centre, and larger than the Principality of Monaco. With about 23,000 students gathered under the same roof, you will meet a lot of different students from different programmes.

If you browse the notice boards along Gydehutten, you will discover a plethora of communities of interest that you can take part in. SDU Odense also houses a variety of facilities such as a gym and an indoor swimming pool, and according to the International Olympic Committee, the best athletics stadium in the world is located at SDU Odense.

On Odense’s campus, there are many facilities that you can take advantage of in your free time:

Right next to the campus you will find the Cortex Lab, which is an innovation and entrepreneurship milieu for students.

At TEK there are various student associations you can participate in if you want.

SDU also has many joint student associations where you can meet other students across studies and faculties. Here you will find sports, social and political associations. You can read more about them at MySDU.

You also have the opportunity to start your own student association if you feel there is missing an association for something you care about.

In Odense, it is relatively easy to find cheap housing compared to the other large study cities. As a student, you are covered by Odense municipality's ’Absolute Assurance of Accommodation’, if you have not found housing before the start of your studies.

Odense is a city in transition. There are companies within robot technology, software, etc., so there are good opportunities for collaborations with local companies, as well as the opportunity to get relevant student jobs and an easy route into the first real job. Odense also has a good entrepreneurial environment, where several students have been involved in starting companies.

In Odense, you will also find the Studenterhuset (Link only in danish) where students from Odense’s many educational institutions can meet and mingle.
