Students have chosen the University of Southern Denmark as Denmark's best university
Times Higher Education has once again this year compiled an international ranking list with a student-oriented focus to determine the best universities for teaching throughout Europe.
Ranked number 28, SDU is among Europe's best universities when it comes to teaching and learning environment. CBS is the second-best Danish university and is ranked no. 45.
This puts SDU's position in perspective, demonstrating that SDU is better than universities in Finland and Germany.
“We welcome the fact that SDU occupies a distinguished position in this important area also. The work on developing the quality of teaching is a very high priority area and means we can ensure that our graduates have the best possible qualifications when they enter the labour market”, says Bjarne Graabech Sørensen, Pro-Vice-Chancellor at SDU.
Focus on teaching
Instead of focusing on research production and research quality, the Teaching Ranking focuses on the best universities in terms of teaching quality and learning opportunities for students.
One key component is THE's European Student Survey, in which 125,000 university students in 18 countries throughout Europe have participated. The students rated their university on a scale from zero to 10 across a number of aspects of their university life, including collaboration, learning, critical thinking and the application of learning for the real world.
