Ole Skøtt appointed Acting Rector of the University of Southern Denmark
The Board of SDU has unanimously decided to appoint Ole Skøtt as Rector. SDU will now set out to find its new rector.
Ole Skøtt, the experienced Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, will be the new acting rector of SDU.
The Board of SDU has unanimously decided to appoint Ole Skøtt as rector, and Ole Skøtt has agreed to head SDU while the Board attempts to a new rector to replace Henrik Dam, who has accepted a new position as Director of the Organisation of General Practitioners.
Niels Thorborg, Chairman of the Board of SDU, gives the following reasons for the election of the acting rector:
- Ole has extensive insight into SDU and the University’s strategic efforts, and he has sound managerial experience. The Board therefore unanimously and fully supports the temporary appointment of Ole Skøtt.
Ole Skøtt will take over as acting rector on 1 August 2021.
SDU will now set out to find its new rector. The Board of SDU will serve as an employment committee, and the position as rector will be advertised before the summer holidays.
The Board expects to be able to appoint a new rector by the end of 2021.
