Vision

Anchored in practice, THRIVE will generate new knowledge on various types of negative interpersonal behavior, including violence, sexual abuse, bullying, and harassment, at a national and international level through high-quality research.

Strategy

Negative interpersonal behavior from a broad perspective:

  • THRIVE's research addresses different aspects of negative interpersonal behavior across different life stages: its causes, consequences including traumatic reactions, risk factors and protective factors, as well as prevention, assessment, and intervention.
  • THRIVE's research examines negative interpersonal behavior from various perspectives and levels, including victims, perpetrators, witnesses, professionals, family members, workplaces, and the broader social system.

Rooted in practice:

  • THRIVE ensures practice integration in its research by developing research projects and questions in close collaboration with relevant practitioners in the field.
  • The close collaboration between THRIVE and practitioners creates synergy between research and practice, optimizing the potential for implementing research findings in practice.

High-quality research:

  • Research quality is ensured by THRIVE's members who possess high expertise and experience in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • THRIVE's members strive to continuously acquire new methods and stay updated on applied research techniques.
    A central strategy is to develop and refine methods and tools for prevention and assessment, as well as to enhance and improve intervention and treatment.
  • Research quality is further ensured through close collaboration with relevant national and international experts, membership in national and international steering committees, research networks, as well as editorial and reviewer work for leading journals.
