Collaboration

The research unit is anchored at IRS Hospital Sønderjylland and is part of Department of Regional Health Research (IRS) under the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Southern Denmark.

International Collaboration

The unit is committed to enhancing its international collaborations. Towards the end of 2023, we initiated partnerships with researchers from the hospital pharmacies in Leuven, Belgium, and Maastricht, the Netherlands. Additionally, a collaboration with the hospital pharmacy in Uppsala, Sweden, will begin in early 2024, aligned with an overseas stay by one of our PhD students.

National Collaboration

Both senior researchers in our unit are members of the "Danish Hospital Pharmacy Research Network (DanHoPR network)." From this network, we lead the national clinical pharmacy project, "Medication Management for Patients with Renal Impairment." Data collection across the country’s hospital pharmacies was completed in 2023, and the project will conclude in 2024 with four planned publications. We anticipate continued collaboration with the DanHoPR network on new national projects in the future.

Local Collaboration

Our 2024 research strategy includes a multidisciplinary project and the trial of a collaboration model with clinical departments at Sygehus Sønderjylland and general practitioners. This project focuses on pharmacist-led medication reviews and intersectoral communication, emphasizing medication management and prioritizing patients who will benefit the most from these services.

University of Southern Denmark and Department of Regional Health Research

IRS can be seen as a network consisting of nearly 300 researchers in over 50 research units, each with its own research leader. The research units are anchored at 12 hospitals in the Region Zealand, Region of Southern Denmark, and Capital Region of Denmark.
