Students visiting Biomar A/S in Brande to do measurements
As part of a course on 8th semester, a group of students visited Biomar A/S in Brande together with Anders Fjeldbo Haubjerg from Center for Energy Informatics. At Biomar A/S the students conducted a range of measurements around a cooler for fish feed. The measurements are to be used for calibrating and validating mathematical models.
Such collaboration between industry, students, and universities is of great benefit for all. The students gets to try out their acquired skills in an industrial setting and get contacts outside the university. For the industry on the other hand it is a welcome opportunity to keep updated on what is new in education and research and also to get in touch with possible future employees.
Projects like these also makes way for identifying other projects for the future both for students and research, says Industrial Assistant Professor Anders Fjeldbo Haubjerg. As an Industrial Assistant Professor, one of Anders main tasks is to enhance collaboration between industry and the university and his work hours and work place is divided between the company Graintec A/S in Vejle and the university. At Graintec A/S Anders works as a Production Engineer.
Anders will definitely take his student to similar visits in the future. It is my firm belief that the students had a good experience and I know that Biomar, as I am, are excited to see the models the students are working on, says Anders.
Biomar A/S is a global Danish company who produces feed for more than 45 different species of fish and shrimps. Their goal is to breed healthy and well tasting fish and shrimps in a responsible and sustainable way.
