CEI initiated, Interreg project Zero Emission Ports North Sea (‘ZEM Ports NS’) had kickoff meeting, Odense, Denmark
CEI and KBM kicked off a new international research project titled Zero Emission Ports North Sea (‘ZEM Ports NS’) here in Odense. You know how a Tesla needs to charge before a drive, right? Well, the same goes for ships running on zero-emission fuels, electric and hydrogen. The need to re-fuel should be integrated into port infrastructure and local energy systems in harbors, and that is what our new project is all about.
It is a part of the North Sea INTERREG Programme with a total project cost of €4.27 million. The project is conducted in close collaboration with Ærø Kommune, Future Proof Shipping, The European Marine Energy Centre EMEC, the Pure Energy Centre, the Port of Oostende, SSPA - Your Maritime Solution Partner Sweden, and Stromstad Municipality.
