Department of informtics, University of Oslo visits CFEI
September 15th a delegation from University of Oslos Research Group for Network and Distributed Systems (UiO:Energy) visited Center for Energy Informatics.
Visiting were head of research group professor Frank Eliassen and Professor Yan Zhang both researchers from UiO:Energy and Øystein Moen Senior Executive Officer who is coordinating their Interdisciplinary energy education.
Professor Frank Eliassen is working in the fields of: Distributed systems, Middleware, Self-adaptive software systems, Ubiquitous and mobile systems, Internet of Things, Cyber-physical systems, Multi-media streaming, and Energy informatics. Professor Frank Eliassen is also part in a range of research projects together with educational activities.
The main focus areas of the Research Group for Network and Distributed Systems are Materials for energy, energy systems, Carbon Capture and Storage, and Energy Transition and Sustainable Society.
The Norwegian delegation visited Center for Energy Information to talk about future collaboration opportunities and to discuss what can be learned from one another.
During their stay the delegation participated in an Energy Club meeting where professor Frank Eliassen gave a short overview og UiO:Energy activities as well as their efforts to create an educational program in energy informatics. Professor Yan Zhang gave a more in debt view of the energy research at UiO. Afterwards there was a discussion among students, Center for Energy Informatics staff and our visitors about future collaboration possibilities.
