New Associate professor Jan Corfixen Sørensen
Center for Energy Informatics has employed Jan Corfixen Sørensen as an Associate Professor from September 1st, 2017.
Jan is not new to the university; he has a PhD in Software Engineering from University of Southern Denmark from 2014 and has previously been employed as a post doc and as an Assistant Professor.
Jan will continue to teach Software Engineering students along with conducting research within the centers research projects. Jans main research focus will be on the new project Smart Green that the center has recently obtained funding for from the European Regional Development Fund – North Sea Region. The focus of the Smart Green project is to secure a greener, sustainable, and more energy efficient greenhouse production through the use of novel Big Data analysis combined with practical demonstrations. This project is the latest in a number of projects focusing on energy consumption in green houses where the Center for Energy informatics and Jan Corfixen Sørensen has been involved.
Jan will also be working on the project InnoShip under Department of Technology and Innovation. A project focusing on the optimization of ship design and operation and the development of technologies and methods to reduce CO2, SOX and NOX emissions from ships.
