Official opening of Green Tech Center
June 24th 2014 His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik 'pushed the button' that marked the official opening of the Green Tech Center in Vejle, Denmark.
Tuesday June 24th 2014 approx. 750 people were gathered at Green Tech Center in Vejle, Denmark to take part in the official opening. The opening was marked by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik with a push of a button. University of Southern Denmark is one of the partners behind the Green Tech Center and Professor, Head of Center Bo Nørregaard Jørgensen from Centre for Smart Energy Solutions in a part of the Green Tech Center Advisory board. The day of the opening was also marked by representatives from ‘the official Denmark’ and partners behind the Green Tech Center among others Vice Chancellor Henrik Dam from University of Southern Denmark said a few words. After the official opening the guests had the opportunity to hear more about the Green Tech Center and the activities it holds in a range of workshops. Centre for Smart Energy Solutions hosted to of the workshops Smart Energy Solutions via Big Energy Data run by Associate Professor Mikkel Baun Kjærgaard, SDU and CEO Anders Midtgaard, Insero Software International Research Collaboration run by Professor, Head of Center Bo Nørregaard Jørgensen, SDU Guests also had the opportunity of a guided tour around the Green Tech Center facilities.
What is Green Tech Center? In Green Tech House both small entrepreneurs and larger businesses can rent office facilities. The idea behind is that collaboration will grow when businesses reside in the same building giving way for innovation. The businesses will also be close to the data collected in from Green Tech Park and the surrounding area. Green Tech Park is a 16,000m2 test facility that has realistic test and demonstration facilities for products and services for the future Smart Grid system with all test platforms connected to the Green Tech Lab. Green Tech Lab is a 1,000m2 laboratory with teaching facilities, entrepreneurial facilities and a project room collecting all data from the energy park. For more info visit: www.greentechcenter.dk
