Audiologists help people to get a better quality of life

Audiology is an exciting combination of health, technical and linguistic subjects about hearing. Audiology is an education programme that enables you to find the cause of hearing difficulties in children, adolescents and adults. You can help these people to a life with more sound, improve their conditions of communication and hence help them to a better quality of life.

As an audiologist, you receive an education that enables you to perform, analyse and interpret examination results, adapt and measure hearing aids as well as check treatment results. The study programme contains subjects such as anatomy, neurology, acoustics, mathematics, phonetics and linguistics.

With a bachelor’s degree in Audiology, you can be employed at both public and private hearing clinics. At public clinics, you can help both adults and children to a better life with sound by means of your detailed knowledge about the identification and treatment of hearing impairment and tinnitus. At private clinics, you perform hearing tests on clients, adapt hearing aids and ensure a good treatment result.

The programme also gives you the opportunity to earn a master’s degree in Audiology. A master’s degree will allow you to be employed in the private industry, where you can work with the development of hearing aids and other hearing systems as well as measuring equipment.
