Der er startet en ny postdoc på instituttet // There is a new postdoc at the department

Pr. 1. maj er Mahatab Uddin ansat som postdoc på Juridisk Institut, hvor han er blevet tilknyttet forskningsgruppen International Ret. Mahatab stammer fra Bangladesh, hvor han tog sin juridiske kandidatuddannelse på University of Chittagong. Han har siden da taget en LL.M. i immaterielret på Stockholm Universitet og en kandidatgrad i bæredygtig udvikling på Uppsala Universitet.
I 2016 fik Mahatab ved Aarhus Universitet tildelt en ph.d.-grad i folkeret om klimaforandringer og bæredygtig udvikling. Hans afhandling bærer titlen ”Transfer of Environmentally Sound Technologies and Promotion of Sustainable Development in the Least Developed Countries”.
Mahatab har undervist i både Danmark og Bangladesh i bl.a. folkeret, international miljøret, lovgivningen for internationale organisationer samt immaterielret. Udover disse juridiske discipliner har han i sin forskning bl.a. beskæftiget sig med klimalovgivning, havmiljø, kunstig intelligens og bæredygtig udvikling.
Han kommer fra en stilling som forskningslektor på University of Guelph i Canada og udkommer inden længe med bogen “Climate Change law, technology Transfer and Sustainable Development”.

As of 1 May, Mahatab Uddin is a postdoc at the Department of Law and has entered the department’s Public International Law research group. He is from Bangladesh where he obtained his basic law degrees at the University of Chittagong. Since then, he has taken a specialized LL.M in Intellectual property law from Stockholm University and a specialized MSc in Sustainable Development from Uppsala University.
I 2016, Mahatab accomplished his PhD in Public International Law on Climate Change and Sustainable Development from Aarhus University. The title of his PhD thesis is “Transfer of Environmentally Sound Technologies and Promotion of Sustainable Development in the Least Developed Countries”.
Mahatab has taught Public International Law, International Environmental Law, Laws of International Organizations and Intellectual Property Law at universities in both Denmark and Bangladesh. Besides these legal disciplines, his research interests, contributions and publications cover the arena of climate change law, arctic governance, carbon market, marine environment, artificial intelligence, innovation and transfer of environmentally sound technologies, rule of law and sustainable development. Mahatab has gained postdoctoral research experience from the University of Guelph, Canada, and is the author of the forthcoming book “Climate Change law, technology Transfer and Sustainable Development”.
