 Forsker fra forskningsenheden for Klinisk Mikrobiologi har sammen med Abedi og Overgaard et al. (Copenhagen University/Bispebjerg Hospital) publiceret ”Effect of single versus multiple prophylactic antibiotic doses on prosthetic joint infections following primary total hip arthroplasty in patients with osteoarthritis at public and private hospitals in Denmark: protocol for a nationwide cross-over, cluster randomised, non-inferiority trial[The Pro-Hip-Quality Trial] i tidsskriftet BMJ Open. I artiklen beskrives protokollen for et landsdækkende studie af ca. 20.000 patienter, der får indsat en hofteprotese. Studiets formål er at undersøge, om en enkelt dosis antibiotika forebygger infektioner ligeså effektivt som antibiotika givet i 24 timer.
