The project will seek to investigate how stress affects areas in the brain. Research has shown that there is a context between a stressed working environment and many mental disorders, dementia, cardiovascular disease and accidents. The main stress factors in a working environment are job security, lack of influence of work situation and lack of support from management and colleagues. In the Danish society stress costs, more than 112 million DKK a day and 35,000 people are sick due to this disease. Stress is a critical condition which affects the person both physically and mentally. Patients experience discomfort due to changes in their body's functions, which can potentially be life-threatening but they also find themselves in a mental state of despair as they experience losing themselves as well as their identity and self-perception.
