Entry requirements

To apply for the Master's programme in Chemistry, you need a relevant Bachelor's degree.

You can also apply if you hold one of the following Bachelor's degrees:

  • Nanobioscience from SDU
  • Chemistry and Biotechnology from SDU
  • Chemical Engineering from SDU
  • Chemistry from Aarhus University, University of Copenhagen, Roskilde University of Aalborg University

Do you hold a similar degree?

Additionally, you can apply if you hold a similar degree containing a minimum of 80 ECTS within chemistry, including relevant auxiliary subjects. Once you apply, the Study Board will assess whether your degree is qualifying.

English language requirements

The programme is taught in English. If your Bachelor’s degree is not from SDU, you are required to submit proof of your proficiency in English. See the English language requirements.

Selection criteria

There is a limited number of study places in the programme.

If there are more qualified applicants than study places, applicants without a legal claim are selected based on an interview.

The interview will be based on the applicant’s subject knowledge and relevant experience.

As a Bachelor student at SDU, you can apply for permission to follow up to 30 ECTS Master-level courses even though you have yet to complete your Bachelor’s degree.

You can be granted permission if you have the necessary academic qualifications. The progression of your Bachelor’s programme is crucial to the outcome of your application.
