First job guarantee in Sønderborg

The First Job Guarantee scheme is an offer for students on the engineering courses in Sønderborg, whereby companies offer a number of positions of a minimum duration of 6 months to newly qualified engineers.

The aim of the scheme is to attract talented students to SDU Sønderborg and allow local companies to get ahead of the curve in recruiting future employees.

The company decides whether the new graduates are offered a temporary or a permanent position. Salary, termination and other terms of employment are applicable as standard for new graduates.

To be considered for the scheme, the student must have:

  • completed their education programme within the prescribed period of study
  •  Danish skills corresponding to level B1 in the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)
  • completed a project or internship with a company.

SDU will ensure that students and companies can meet during the period of study in connection with student jobs, projects, internships as well as matchmaking at Business Lunches and project and internship days at SDU.
