Southern Danish Hospitals Achieve the Status of being University Hospital
Under the name ‘University Hospital of Southern Denmark’, the southern Danish hospitals now achieve the status of being university hospital. This also has a positive impact on the departments and research units affiliated with Department of Regional Health Research.
A status of University Hospital is a recognition that the region's hospitals carry out research of the highest quality. Rikke Leth-Larsen, Head of Department of Regional Health Research, is proud of this. She adds that, in addition to the research quality stamp, it also signals that the education we offer in the region's hospitals is of the highest quality.
Southern Danish University Hospital is not just one hospital. It is the organisational framework which in the future surrounds the cooperation between the southern Danish hospitals and SDU. This framework covers the research and training carried out at the southern Danish hospitals in cooperation with Department of Regional Health Research, University of Southern Denmark. A university hospital status means better opportunities for cooperation with foreign university hospitals, but also increased opportunities when applying for founding. It will, among other things, have a positive impact on the IRS centres and research units.
