Teaching Award for inspiring supervision

At the annual celebration on Friday 5 October, associate professor Karsten Holm Andersen and four other teachers were enriched by 25.000 Dkr as well as by an honourable title. This took place when rector Jens Oddershede distributed the Teaching Awards of the year. 

By the students who nominated him, Karsten is portrayed as an unusually inspiring and helpful supervisor who is ready to provide guidance all around the clock. 

Special mention is made of his huge contribution to the Formula Student project which is an international competition in which students build a racing car and compete with each other at Silverstone in England.

Committed and professionally skilled
In the nomination from the Faculty of Engineering it was said among other things that Karsten is an unusually committed and well-liked teacher who demonstrates great initiative regarding both the students, the engineering profession and the educational development at the Faculty of Engineering. 

Karsten's drive and professionalism makes itself felt especially in connection with the field of electrotechnics where he is teaching students from both bachelor and master programmes as well as from international programmes.

Great recognition 
”I am incredibly proud of and honoured by the Award and by the recognition thus shown to me by students and colleagues”, Karsten says happily.
He also receives a pat on the shoulder from his colleagues who describe him as a real teamplayer who enjoys the dynamic created in the cooperation with students as well as with colleagues from all over the University of Southern Denmark.
