Honorary professor reappointed at KBM

As a professor at the Department of Environmental Science and the Arctic Research Centre at Aarhus University and with over 25 years of experience in atmospheric chemistry, the continuing connection with Henrik Skov will enhance the Department of Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology and Environmental Technology's research profile in atmospheric chemistry, air pollution and arctic environmental chemistry.

Henrik Skov's research is centred around chemical reactions in the air, in particular focusing on the Arctic and global questions such as climate change and pollution caused by ozone, particles and mercury.

The reappointment also augments collaboration with Aarhus University - a collaboration that is expected to be expanded further through Henrik Skov's role as leader of the Villum Research Station, a newly established research station at Station Nord near the northern tip of Greenland.
The research station uses drone technology, advanced chemical measurement methods and fuel cell technology - research areas that come under the Faculty of Engineering's research profile.

Educated in Odense

Henrik Skov graduated as a chemist and physicist from Odense University in 1988 and with a PhD Diploma in atmospheric chemistry in 1992. In 1993 he was appointed as senior researcher at the National Environmental Research Institute (NERI), which in 2007 became part of Aarhus University.

Henrik Skov was first appointed as honorary professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology and Environmental Technology in 2010 and has now been reappointed from 1st June, 2015.
