Phosphorus
- A potent fertilizer. All agricultural production depends heavily on it.
- A raw material, mined from a few giant mines. Most are in Morocco, China, USA and Russia.
- Only a third distributed on fields is taken up by plants. The rest accumulates in soil or washes out in waterways.
