- The centre intends to undertake solid empirical, applied research with a specific focus on life conditions, innovations and challenges in rural Denmark.
- The centre intends to cover all aspects of rural life by using methods and theories from various disciplines and including policy aspects/policy recommendations
- The centre will seek to get most research projects, including PhD projects, funded by international and national funding bodies, including funding from the Danish Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs.
- The centre’s research outputs include publication of peer-reviewed articles in international and national journals, book chapters, books/anthologies, popular scientific publications, participation in relevant boards and committees, participation in conferences and seminars with paper presentations, as well as dissemination to the Danish public media.
- The centre will cooperate with international and national rural researchers, public and private organizations, NGOs and voluntary associations.
- The centre runs a Rural Sociology profile at the MSc Cultural Sociology and intends to involve students in relevant rural research projects.
