Kaunas Science Award to KTU Professor Sigitas Tamulevičius
This year's Kaunas Science Award was awarded to professor Sigitas Tamulevičius, Director of Kaunas University of Technology, director of the KTU Materials Science Institute. Professor Tamulevičius is also Honorary Professor at NanoSYD, University of Southern Denmark.
This prize is awarded for long active and meaningful scholarly activities, the highest academic achievements, innovative activities and their implementation in Kaunas.
The most important qualities for each scientist are curiosity, constant interest in innovations, achievements in the field and full dedication to his work: You have to live constantly what you do, to improve and learn. If I need to re-select a profession, I really will not change it, I think that I made a right choice, "says S. Tamulevičius.
The size of the one bonus is 3 thousand euro. Science Awards are from 2013 and 2015. Every year two awards are given: one for biology, biomedicine, agriculture or technology, the other one for social and humanitarian sciences. Since 2013, the award has been awarded to six scientists. This year's Kaunas Science Award is also awarded to Rasutė Žukienė, art historian at Vytautas Magnus University.
