Creativity in STEM Education: A lecture by Chunfang Zhou
The Faculty of Natural Science have developed an ambitious strategy for education for the coming five years and have as part of that identified four key competencies that all educations at the faculty will work with: Communication, Creativity, Interdisciplinarity and Student's self-management. As part of the ongoing work with the strategy in the Chemistry/Pharmacy section at FKF, Chunfang Zhou gave a talk at the section meeting Friday 29th April 2022.
The lecture introduced
- the understanding on the concept of creativity,
- why creativity is important in science education, and
- how to develop creativity in science education.
Chunfang presented a clear overview of the concept of creativity and her thoughts on how you can foster creativity in teaching. The talk was followed by a lively discussion that showed great enthusiasm about the subject by everyone present. The section will specifically work with students' creativity and self-management regarding projects (at all levels) in the autumn.
