Henrique is a Brazilian Agronomy Engineer (University of São Paulo) who is interested in sustainable agriculture, smart fertilizer management, nutrient cycling and overall improvement of agricultural systems.
He earned his MSc in Soils and Plant Nutrition (University of São Paulo) in 2021, when he developed a research on the characteristics, soil dynamics and agronomic potential of German waste-recycled phosphate fertilizers. During this period, Henrique attended the German Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM - Berlin), where he helped on the refinement of New-Gen phosphate fertilizer derived from sewage sludge ash and also collaborated to multiple projects in his field.
It was then that he discovered the RecaP project and saw it as an excellent opportunity to develop novel research in phosphorus stewardship. Now as a PhD fellow at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU Vienna), Henrique will be investigating the potential of cover crop mixes in mobilizing soil legacy P, ultimately contributing to worldwide sustainable agriculture.
