OPEN employs new Professor in Nursing

This combined position is the first of its kind in Denmark. Also the position as Docent (Senior Associate Professor) is a new employee category at the Danish University Colleges.
With her employment at OPEN Lise Hounsgaard becomes part of the OPEN Advice team who offers consultations to researchers and PhD-students. Lise Hounsgaard's research competence is especially within qualitative research.
In this position, Lise will take part in strengthening the collaboration between the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) and University College Lillebaelt (UCL) as well as bridging the gap between the health education programs at UCL and the new Master's degree programs in Clinical Nursing, Midwifery Science and Occupational Therapy at SDU
In addition to contributing to research in nursing and dissemination, as Professor she is going to lead the research-based education at Institute for Nursing and Health Science at the University of Greenland. As head of the research unit here she will develop a research environment focused on practice and application-oriented research based on health care problems in Greenland and in collaboration with other arctic and international researchers. Lise Hounsgaard will also establish PhD-projects and supervise PhD-students, a task she has performed the last five years as an Associate Professor at Research Unit of Nursing, Institute of Clinical Research.
As Docent, at University College Lillebaelt, Lise Hounsgaard will participate in establishing a research environment in the Area for Health Education including organizing scientific activities. Through counselling and supervision she will help to qualify the teaching staff to be able to start PhD education programs.
