In the Research unit of Occupational and Environmental Medicine we use analytical epidemiology to uncover what influences the causes of diseases. But our primary focus is uncovering risk factors in work environments.
We mainly use quantitative methods like survey, register data, interviews, serology and/or clinical examination of participants, with subsequent statistical analysis. But occasionally we will also use qualitative approaches like semi-structured research interviews followed by qualitative analysis.
Finally, we carry out intervention studies when feasible i.e., when we study the impact of changes to working environment and/or individual preventive measures.
