New PhD-student at OPEN
Jette Marcussen is affiliated with OPEN as a PhD-student with the project "Mental health perspective on children's double bereavement of parental divorce and parental death".
Jette is a trained nurse in Vejle and MA in Educational Psychology at DPU in Aarhus. She is an Associated Professor of the Nursing programme in Odense, UCL, as well as external consultant in the Center for Family Development.
Jette was enrolled at OPEN on the 1st of june 2016 and remains, during the PhD project, employed at UCL.
The PhD project aims to develop knowledge of how the particularly vulnerable group of children and families experiencing double grief (grief due to parents' divorce and, subsequently, parents’ critical illness and death), the double grief’s impact on mental health and the need for support. Furthermore, the project aims to develop knowledge about how the healthcare system and other professionals can support children affected by double grief so that aid can be targeted with a focus on promoting these children's well-being and mental health.
Main supervisor on the project is Lise Hounsgaard, Professor at OPEN and UCL. Project supervisor Frode Thuen, Professor at Centre for knowledge-based practice and head of the couples -and family research, Bergen University College, also employed at the Center for Family Development, DK. Co-supervisor Poul Bruun; RN, PhD, MPH, Head of Health Sciences Research Center.
